A list of most expensive items available in the luxury markets of India makes interesting reading. It goes to show, that there is a sizeable market, proportionate to the cost of the item. A brief list is shown below :

Most Expensive Soap : Rs 720 made by Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd. weghing 150 gms.
Most Expensive School : Rs 8 lakhs per year by Good shepherd International School and Stonehill International School.
Most Expensive Bicycle : Rs 4.25 lakhs weighs mere 10 kgs.
Most Expensive Pen : Rs 1.35 crore with a 18-carat gold nib and made by Caran d' Ache
Most Expensive Tie : Rs 1 crore designed by Satya Paul studded with diamonds and 150 gm gold.
Most Expensive Share : Rs 48,650 per share of Orissa Mineral Development Company
Most Expensive Mobile : Rs 6 lakh and made by Vertu Signature from precious metals.
Most Expensive Hotel room : Rs 22.5 lakhs per night for the Presidential Suite at Raj Palace,Jaipur.
Most Expensive Shoelaces : Rs !.5 lakh for silver and Rs 9.5 lakhs for Gold shoe laces made by Colombian artisans.
Most Expensive Memorabilia : Rs 1.20 crore for similar bat,pad,shirt,helmet and gloves sachin wore when he scored his hundredth 100.
It all looks crazy but then the reality is that there are extra super rich who will acquire these items and feel super high. Good for the economy also and the craftsmen who make these products. Good for us also as we derive enjoyment by reading about them.
