Busy Mom Time Savers

I am always on the go. I work a full time job, I have four kids, and there are never enough hours in the day. Its hard especially if you are a single working mother. I am blessed that my children are finally growing up and for the most part are very mature. Here are some time saving tips that I have used through out the years.

Hamburger Meat-

I buy hamburger meat in five pound packages (I have four kids). I take one night that I get off a little bit earlier than normal and brown it all at once. Then I divide it in two (you can divide it into more if you have less kids or buy a smaller package). Then I either freeze it in zip lock baggies or refrigerate it if I know I am going to use it the next day or two. This cut some dinner prep times down alot on the nights that I am running the kids off to various sport or after school activities.

Other Moms-

Having four kids means having different sports. Alot of sports run at the same time. I have been blessed by having a great community full of helping hands. If I work late or I know that another child has an activity at the same time, I can normally call one of the other moms that have a child in that sport and they are usually willing to come and gather my child. Now with this be expected to be called to do the same on occasion.

Slow Cooker-

I have found various ways to use my slow cooker to cook alot of different dinners. I have another article on this available on my profile for actual recipes. Almost anything can be cooked in a slow cooker and its a great time saver as you can cook it overnight. Clothes-

Out of the four children I have three are in school. I dont want them going to school in their play clothes and I like them to actually match (in reality little boys really will wear neon green and orange not a good combo). In order to avoid any mis-matched outfits when I do laundry I hang up outfits together. I hang the pants and a matching shirt overtop. This provides them with a complete outfit for school, that is matching and clean. This saved me time because it means I dont have to pick out the clothes they wear everyday. I also like this because it gives the child the optiong to pick their own outfit out of the ones you have hanging up for them.

Lunches-

I always prepare their lunches the night before and if I have extra time I will even prepare their lunches for the week. This avoids any early morning rushes of trying to get their lunch together and realizing you have run out of bread for sandwiches.
