If you ever went to jr high school or high school, you have seen or witnessed a lot of bullying. It is one of the ugliest things you can see. It can scar people for life and even kill others. School shootings tend to one of the causes of bullying. The victim only sees revenge in sight and takes it out on whoever gets in his way. I just wish that there was a way the schools can prevent bullying instead of downplaying it's seriousness

In my freshman year of high school, there was one incident that I'll remember forever. A freshman kid planned to make a bomb that would've killed atleast a 100 kids. The kid however was stopped before he enacted his iniquitous crime. He told a bunch of kids about his plan to make a bomb and a teacher overheard him. The teacher then reported about the incident  to the school principal. The next day security apprehended him and searched him. They found the materials to make a bomb in his bookbag. This story had a happy ending. Our school got a lot of media coverage out of this. I guess everyone wins.

During my junior year in high school, a friend of mine ran away from home. I also went to jr. high school with her but we were never good friends. One day in school somebody tells me she ran away. At first I thought that this was a joke, but soon everybody was talking about it. Apparenty she wrote a letter on facebook saying she was really depressed. She also went on to say that she wasn't treated fair at home. I am assuming that her parents beat her. Don't take my word for it. She also said that she tried seeking help from one of her teachers but nobody came to her aide. I blame the school system because it failed to help a child in need of support. My school isn't one of the best schools. It is like any other high school. Once, a couple of teenagers had sex in the lunchroom. In the bathroom, kids get high daily. In the hallways and the lockerroom, I can smell weed. I know from conversations with my friends that the other high schools are similar to mine. I just wish that the kids have someone to turn to. Teenagers believe it is them against the world and I agree with that. Nobody tries to see things from the teenagers point of view. Parents are too protective to see through their eyes. Most teachers i know tend to be caught up in their own lives. They always seem to be complaining about something.

Bullying is an ugly thing. This year ,I read an article that said a seven year old commited suicide because of bullying. I was appalled. What must he have gone through  the kids mind that he wanted to commit suicide? His parents split up and in school he was being teased about it. Things like these make me hate the society I live in. Why not try to help him instead of mocking him? Bullying is one thing that will never go away. Some people get pleasure from causing pain to others. These people are the same ones that I avoid making friends of. They say that your friends define who you are. Well, I am not a bully so I'm not gonna make friends with one. The scars that are left cause of bullying are one that follow you for life. You are mentally scared and it will affect everything you do. These scars are the same ones that I want the schools to prevent. If only they put the kids as their first priorities, than maybe things like bullying won't occur as often.
