In 2008 Bukisa was the rival of Triond. Like Triond, the site paid you. Hence there wasn't any Adsense or other such wait and see; one was paid directly from the site on a regular basis.
At one point, Bukisa received MORE hits than Triond. Many people wrote for both sites.
Bukisa wasn't as intuitive as Triond so posting there was a bit more involved, however, many wrote for the site and received their pennies.
Triond decided to have a double tier policy. If one chose, one could be paid by Adsense as well as by Triond. This meant twice as many Ads on the site. Some people opted in, some didn't.
Bukisa, however, decided to stop paying it's contributors and have them paid by Adsense or Chitka ONLY.
Now this is always a discomfort for writers as Adsense, no matter how one tries to tweak it, is very clumsy and often doesn't give one the information they want; that is; how much money did I make this month?
Once Bukisa took this route, many writers just couldn't bother any more. Hence hits began to decline as writers stopped contributing.
One assumed that it would either go out of business or do something to entice writers; which is paying from the site so that one can go to their account and see how much money they earned this month.
Well, they did Do something.
Bukisa has redesigned the site in such a way that:
a) Users can not Publish
b) Newbies can't join.
If you are a previous user of Bukisa and log on, you can not submit any work. If you press the publish button you get an error message. If you are a Newbie, the email you receive comes without an activation code.
You can try publishing at any hour of the day or night, and will be told; "Bukisa is momentarily off line."
If you want to join Bukisa you will Never get an activation code. You can get 1k emails and not One will have the code.
It's probably the worst designed site on the Internet.
Poor Bukisa, can't do anything right.

Hmm, I had never heard of this one. Thanks for warning me about it before I wasted my time!
been with them several month until they decide changing their payment term from per thousand to revenue sharing..I quit
Most writers, (save those who write Ad scopy) prefer to be paid from the site. 1c for X hits or whatever. Adsense is deliberately vague. People want to know how much they made, and it's hell to try to get that info from Adsense.
Bukisa made a lot of mistakes, and their new website is the proof of their unprofessionalism.
I've been having problems with integrating Adsense with my account at Bukisa since they changed the layout of the site. I don't know why they want to change. It was fine the way it was.
Everyone had trouble with Burkisa and the integration because the site is so badly constructed.
awesome writing
In 1996 if one couldn't get their Web Page to 'work' it was a little embarrassing. In 2012 that Bukisa can't get it's Web Page to 'work' proves the extent of the unprofessionalism.
Been a member of bukisa as well as triond for several years now. At first I was contented with the earnings. But now the two sites where not performing as expected.
I think there can be a decline for any writing site like this. So, it is not good to rely on any one particular site. Some writers just post a number of articles every day, most of them worthless. Their only intention is to increase their article count. Such articles lower the standard of the site and make it a content farm.
That is very true. One doesn't know, at first which sites are good and which aren't, because many times when one posts an article like this, the owners of the site immediately contact the owner of the host and demand it removed.
Bukisa is just pathetic, and the joke is, if they had stayed as they were, paying from the site, they'd have done well.
Think That's bad, try DELETING an article on there smh and it ain't funny :)
What makes this painful is that when you write something really good and want to move it, you're stuck. I've had to rewrite articles, and with all honesty, degrade them to at least get some of it elsewhere.
