The Benefits of Having a Cat at Home

Having a cat at home can be one of the most comforting things in the life of a human. These animals can have wonderful personalities, because they are playful, smart and spontaneous. Many times people can be surprised of the behavior that their feline has. Felines are usually smarter than dogs and they have a better developed personality. While dogs may have the tendency to stress their owners if they are hungry or if they feel lonely and need playing, cats can be more patient.

Domestic felines can study the behavior of their masters and imitate it. For example, when the master opens a door, the feline will watch and the next time the door is closed, the animal will try to imitate the moves the human made when he/she opened the door. Copying the moves may help the pet achieve its objectives.

Felines can have a behavior that makes people relax and feel comfort. Simply watching the animal when it cleans itself with the tongue, when it purrs, or sleeps, can bring relaxation, joy and a domestic and familiar feeling. Cats have their own rituals: they can ask for attention and care exactly in the most inappropriate moments, but these rituals can make people happy and calm.

For example, the animal may ask for care exactly when people have more work to do and they can place their feet or tails exactly in the busy spot for receiving attention. Sometimes domestic felines can cause trouble, but the problems can be solved with yelling and threatening from their masters.

According to psychological studies, people who have an animal can pass easier through hard times in life. No matter if people are in the search for a job, or they lose a job, or they lose a partner, an animal can be a good source of positive energy. Also, a pet can be a substitute for human tenderness. Having a cat at home can be a real blessing for its owners and those who do not have one yet, should at least think about the benefits.
