Baby Born with Foot in Brain

A husband and wife were having difficulty making a baby. When they finally gave up, the wife became pregnant. She had a "normal pregnancy" except she went over her due date. The doctors wanted to induce labor, but the parents did not agree.  This major decision could be exactly why doctors found a tumor in the child's brain after ordering instead, an ultrasound.

During the ultrasound on the mother, discovered was a tumor growing inside the child's brain.  What was especially strange is that the tumor appeared to have an appendage attached to it. That appendage when they opened the skull of the child to remove it, turned out to a small foot.  Even more, after investigating the child's brain, it appears that there was even another piece of a foot, part of a buttocks and a thigh. The tumor has been told to the parents that it can even regrow.

The child has had no side-effects from brain surgery or the fact that an appendage was growing inside its brain.  The little boy appears to be normal in every way.  Doctors however, want to continue to test him every month.  They feel although the removed tumor shows no signs of cancer, they are concerned that the tumor can both grow back and perhaps if it does, grow more appendages. The condition is being called, teratoma.
