Arrest against DMK functionaries upsets Rahul Gandhi

Land grabbing

After Jayalalithaa came to power in May this year, she has been vigorously taking up the land grabbing cases against the erstwhile DMK ministers and party men. People are increasingly coming out to the police stations to complain that their land and buildings were forcibly taken away from them by the DMK functionaries. Police have also registered cases and arresting the culprits. But as the number of complaints has grown to monumental proportions, Jayalalithaa has started special police stations and special courts to deal with the growing number of complaints.

Karunanidhi set to become CM in 2016

It has so happened that most of the people arrested in the land grabbing cases are Alagiri’s assistants. Alagiri has been upset by this and has visited his assistants in prison. Of course, if the DMK comes back to power, these arrested people will be released by the Chief Minister Karunanidhi and they will be allowed to grab land again from people. It is all a question of time. Come 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and DMK people are eagerly waiting for Karunanidhi to once again become Chief Minister at the age of 92.

Rahul Gandhi upset

But more than Alagiri, Rahul Gandhi has been upset so much. Rahul considers Alagiri as his mentor in politics and is his faithful follower. After Alagiri used his formula to win the Tirumangalam by elections in Tamil Nadu, Rahul Gandhi became his fan. Alagiri had been installed as a Minister in the Union Cabinet at the behest of Rahul Gandhi.

Alagiri is Rahul’s mentor

Naturally, Rahul Gandhi is very much affected mentally because of the arrests made by the Jayalalithaa government against Alagiri’s assistants. When DMK lost the elections in Tamil Nadu, Rahul was very much upset and lost his rhythm. Now Rahul seems to have no words to console Alagiri, his mentor.

Barnala may dismiss Jayalalithaa

DMK is seriously trying to bring back Karunanidhi as CM in a short span of time through back door. They are trying to destabilise the Jayalalithaa government by purchasing the MLAs belonging to the ruling party. Money is not a problem as the DMK’s coffers are full. Rahul Gandhi also would like to see Jayalalithaa getting dismissed through the Tamil Nadu Governor Barnala. A grand plan is under way and the Pondicherry Chief Minister Rangasamy is successfully negotiating with the AIADMK MLAs.

Cases will be withdrawn

If the move succeeds, then Karunanidhi will become Chief Minister again. All the arrested DMK functionaries and former ministers will be released from prison and all the cases registered against them will be withdrawn. They will be allowed to keep the grabbed land with themselves. That will please Alagiri very much. Rahul Gandhi will also celebrate that.
