Looky here. I've noticed, when I looked at my stats lately, that a recent column or article I published received scant views in the first few minutes, from 5 to 10, after publication. That's what happened with my latest column "Pussy Riot and Sisters' Act." After I shared that with the usual social networking and bookmarking sites like facebook, Twitter, StumbleUpon, Delicious, etc, just as I always did with earlier columns which were "bombarded right away with tremendous page views" I can't believe that my present column would get that little, 5 or so after an hour or so?
The fact is, as I write this, I had checked Google trends to get an idea on what hot topic to write about and sure enough I picked the "Pussy Riot." Now I can't understand why only 5 or so people on the planet chose to click or read my page despite my self marketing and the Google trend during the hour after my column was published.
I find that unbelieveable and downright incredible! I've just checked anew from a separate computer windows just now about 2 hours after I published the above-mentioned column, and the page views still stood at 5, of all the people in the world!
Not only this case, however. I also noticed that the 2 previous columns of mine "We are the champions: Ode to Freddie Mercury" and "Tale of the Tapes: Triond, Wikinut and Expertscolumn" though very much shared, had only 11 and 10 page views, respectively, after 24 hours? That's kinda hard to believe!
I am sure something is wrong with the Stats and hope they will be duly rectified for the benefit of all writers.
Not that I doubt the credibility of my new site, Expertscolumn, since I have consistently earned. It is just that probably there is by a stretch of the imagination a glitch in the system.
Or maybe just my own glitch in my brain?

I've recently got less views. Usually after I send the link to facebook, twitter and others, my page views grow quickly. I think everyone else has the same.
We will have to do some self marketing also and not depend on the site's search engine. Good luck!
Is there a way to see 'All time page views'? We get to see the data of only 3 months. Kindly help in this regard.
So sad we can't see overall our traffic as they seem to be limited to 3 months when we click "filter" and I can only monitor day-to-day traffic views. I suggest you request the administrator that information. But I assure you the gauge as to whether you are progressing is to see your earnings, which I now usually do. Good luck, new friend.
Thank you so much Sir for your prompt and positive response.
You're welcome, dear Krishna. Keep writing. Namaste!
I have not paid any attention to this aspect so far dear Buzz! Now I will keep an eye on it and will come back to you with my experience later on! Thanks !
It has normalised already, my friend. Namaste!
I joined Expertscolumn only recently. People had recommended it to me saying that Expertscolumn received more views than Triond.
I was surprised when I joined that I didn't receive as much traffic as I thought. Nice to know it was not just me.
Not to worry, Tanna. It seems page views have been picking up. The slump may have been the effect of the server upgrade that was done recently.
Since I also noticed the same thing I purchased an ad package to one of my articles for 1000 views for 1 day and in the traffic stats it shows only 300 views out of the 1000.
Thanks, pav. Nice meeting you.
thanks for the share! I find this whole thing difficult to comprehend but am trying.
Thanks for the comment, avi.
I've noticed the same thing. I used to get quite a good number of page views to my articles. But now it's really very much reduced. I notice this after the upgrading that was done earlier in this month of August. I hope EC would look into this and display the accurate number of page views. It's quite demotivating to look at the page views stats now.
Why, I'm not alone, after all, but am in good company. The server upgrade may have indeed affected our traffic. Let's hope EC will issue a clarification on this. Thanks, UmiNoor.
I also have noticed that the number of page views has decreased recently. May be the entire site is affected.
If so I hope they get fixed soon. Thanks, my friend.
