Another Farmville Addict

I joined Facebook only last year and have declined numerous invitations to join Farmville before finally giving in. After learning the basics of Farmville, I was hooked. Everyday is an obligation to get online and harvest, plant, fertilize my neighbors farms, feed their chickens, get bonus/es from friends and adopt or find animals that are lost. I enjoy every minute, so now i will try to dissect why so many are hooked just like me.

If you are working, the idea of having a farm is so invigorating. To have a piece of land where you can raise chickens, cows, pigs, ducks, reindeers, penguins (all in the same place) is really something that you will look forward to everyday. To have a piece of land where you can plant and raise all imaginable trees is such a stress reliever. Farmville gives us that thought - a virtual farmer, land owner and animal grower.

If you live in a city, living in the rural area is really a dream. To breath in fresh air, watch your plants grow, see your animals grow and multiply, have your friends as neighbors is refreshing. To control what is happening in your farm, be the one to landscape and arrange or rearrange everything gives you a sense of power.

Farmville provide users with their dreams. To live in a farm, surrounded by trees of all kinds and sizes, every imaginable plants, animals and neighbors. To live in a crime-free environment is a dream that everyone of us wants to have. To control everything about your own farm is what we busy people dream about.

I guess in the end, we love creating our own niche so to speak. We love to see the output of our labor and farming is hard labor. I came from the province and I can say that farming is not for me. I can't possibly perform the tasks required of a farmer. But in farmville, I can be a farmer and more. I can be a landscaper, a decision maker on what to plant, when to plant, what animal to buy, when to expand my land. I can be receiver of gifts and a giver of gifts. I can be a landowner, and i can be a helper to my neighbors. Farmville gives me the opportunity to be good, something that in reality is so hard to do because of the busy days and responsibilities that grown-ups have to face.

Lastly, thanks to Farmville for giving me the diversion that I need. Thanks to Farmville for taking the stress away.
