Every birthday or New Year is a chance granted to you for a change. At every occasion the gardener of the life garden says, “Let it alone, sir, this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure. And if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.” (Luke 13:8-9)
Every Birthday or New Year is an additional chance granted to you for a change. At every occasion comes with a gift coupon for a remarkable change. It is also a warning of a fatal fall if you do not change yourself. Jesus Christ explains this through a great example in the gospel of Luke in chapter 13.
The purpose of human life
Every human being is created with a great purpose and plan of God. God has created everyone to fulfill that purpose and yield fruits. The ultimate goal of every human creation is to reach the kingdom of God. God has given everyone talents with which he can make his life yield maximum fruits.
God is not against man’s endeavors to earn money or power. Because everything is comes through God’s Divine Providence only. Gos is really happy when people make use of their talents and efforts to profits. But God wants to make use of them in
building up His Kingdom through sharing and love. When money or power are misused for selfish purposes or utilized against love, the purpose of God’s creation is not realized.
Every life is to yield fruits
Jesus was searching for fruits in a tree. There was no fruit in the tree, though it was time to yield. “And he told this parable: "A man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. And he said to the vinedresser, ‘Lo, these three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I find none. Cut it down; why should it use up the ground?’ And he answered him, 'Let it alone, sir, this year also, till I dig about it and put on manure. And if it bears fruit next year, well and good; but if not, you can cut it down.’” (Luke 13: 6-9).
Just reflect on this parable.
God wants to build up His kingdom on this earth. It is not spreading any religion or dogma. This is not a religious view or preaching. It is common for all religions. God is the King. All people without any discrimination are His citizens. The constitution of His kingdom is “love”. It is the love of the “supreme Power” and all the fellow people. It is very simple. It is the only commandment of God’s Kingdom which Jesus insisted so many times when he lived on this earth.
Repentance is the first step of yielding fruit. Love and sharing love is the nutrient energy that enables yielding fruit. Think of this on your birthday; on every occasion. Another chance is granted to you.
The rest is left to your decision. “To be or not to” is left to your decision.
