It is quite normal that one may have a bad experience in a relationship. But it should not be so upsetting that it makes it difficult to get involved in another. Building trust should become a routine job and it should be treated as a normal task that needs careful considerations and calm proceeding. Many people do not have that amount of patience which is required for success.
1. Never take refuge in falsehood
Hiding true identity under pretension that you are somebody else will lead you to disastrous consequences in the long run, jeopardizing the process of building trust in a relationship. There is no such thing that can replace sincerity. It makes positive contribution towards building trust in the long run. So if one desires to build a trustworthy relationship, it is best for him/her to be sincere in words and deeds.
2. Have Patience
In order to build a strong trustworthy relationship, one must not rush things to his/her new mate. He/she should deliver things gracefully one by one – calmly and with patience. Trust is never achieved overnight. The edifice of trust can only be built gradually with passage of time.
3. False accusations eat into the vitals
False accusations hurled thoughtlessly at your new mate will eat into the vitals of your relationship with him/her. It is not unlikely that your life partner may have passion for the opposite sex, or at times he/she may not have responded to your call without any apparent reason. That does not necessarily mean that he/she is deceiving you. Before lodging any allegation, you must have proper proof in support of your claim. Judgment of the person demands that you must first make yourself free of jealousy.
4. Express Your Views
Agreement between two persons on all matters is neither natural nor rational. Differing on certain points is what is expected between every two persons. So, be frank and express your views freely irrespective of whether the other person will agree with you or not. That will make your communication with the other person smooth and natural. This will also help the other person to know you fully. In addition, this will pave the way to deepen your understanding with the other person.
5. Words to be supported by Actions
Unless supported by proportionate actions, declaration of love by words has no effect. Expression by words begins the process of generation of trust while actions confirm and strengthen it. So keep yourself constantly aware of the vital need for actions when you open your mouth to speak out words.
6. Be Communicative in all situations
Good communication is the key to success for effective building of trust in a relationship. Communication should necessarily be done in a graceful manner, with clarity, sincerity, civility and kindness. If so done, the other person will also reciprocate in the same manner. This will create the right infra-structure required to contain properly the deep elements of trust that strengthen and deepen a relationship.
7. Be Truthful and Responsible
In all situations, frankly admit the truth and face the facts. Do not allow creation of any room for misunderstanding in future by hiding a truth. If you have done something wrong or if your partner is unhappy on any of your actions, take it up straightaway, show your excuses with assurances that due care will henceforth be taken to avert recurrence of any such incidence in future.
8. Have Faith in Your Partner
It is essential for you to have faith in your partner who will then reciprocate proportionately, resulting in strengthening of the relationship. Be sympathetic, understanding and helpful to your partner when he/she is in difficulties or facing some problems. By your actions and reactions, show and prove to your partner that you are a ‘true friend in need’.
If your partner is depressed or disappointed, try to inject positive words and suggestions into his/her mind – say to him/her that you firmly believe that he/she has all that are required for success in life; and you have no doubt that he/she will succeed in life.
With a suitable amount of tolerance, we should express our views and comments and resolve together to tide over the situation. In conclusion, our words and deeds should make us feel that we are a couple, and that, couples are always more facilitated to be stronger than the singles.
