Are you trying hard to save money? Are you finding it difficult to cutback further than you already have? If You think you’ve cut out as much as you could, think again! Here’s how I’m going to save an extra dollar a day. I challenge you to join me.

I’ve been taking a good look at my spending, even after making major cutbacks. I’ve been looking over my lists, of all the things I’ve given up, and those things I’m still allowing. I knew sooner or later, I’d want to cut back even further. Now, I’m getting a taste once again, of what it’s like to have “money saved up.“ I’m liking the feeling. I know, that the more strict I am with my saving, the quicker, I’ll have a down payment for a home. So, how am I going to come up with more money to stash away?

Even though, I’ve made major changes to my spending, I’m going to need to sacrifice even further. I’ve been looking over some of the items on my “can’t do without list.” These are the items, that I’ve allowed, so I won’t go into what I call a “non-spending misery zone.” But, the thought of saving a bit extra, makes giving something up, well worth it. So, what do I have in mind? You know that McDouble that I have for lunch, just about everyday? Yes, I’m making a sad face. It’ll be worth cutting that out for 30 days, to save some money.

By staying out of McDonald’s for 30 days, I’ll save, $32.70. It’ll be a challenge for me, because I enjoy my “break time” to get to sit and relax a bit during lunch. Its been my lunchtime getaway. It’s the place, I can get my mind off of work for a bit, listen to other peoples chatter, and people watch. It’s been a welcomed daytime distraction. But, I’ve made the decision, and I know I can do it. All I’m asking, is for 30 days. Then, I’ll go over my list of those things I have a hard time parting with again, and I’ll come up with something else to cut out for 30 days. Maybe, it’ll be something that’ll save me even more than $32.70?

I challenge you to join me, in saving a dollar a day. What will you do, to save $30 this month?

Cutting back spending on bottled water is an excellent idea, not to mention what it would do for the environment if everyone else did too. Good tip.

That's actually a really good idea! I should try to bring my own bottled water when I go to daily dance class. That would save me about 1 or 2 Swiss franks a day (1 swiss frank is a little more than a dollar).

To save $1+ a day, good idea! I really should give up diet soda :( That'll save over a dollar each day too!
